Pursuant to Order No. 3-266/06.12.2016 issued by the Executive Agency Maritime Administration, Bulgarian Register of Shipping (BRS) is authorized to perform surveys of vessels operating on inland waterways for compliance with the requirements of Ordinance No. 22 of 2008 on technical requirements for inland waterway vessels.
Within this authorization, BRS is entitled to carry out inspections and issue Certificates of Technical Fitness for the following equipment and systems:
Pressure vessels and associated equipment
Shipborne lifting cranes and cargo handling equipment
Domestic systems operating with liquefied gas
Fixed fire-extinguishing systems protecting engine rooms, boiler rooms, and pump rooms
Ship steering gear and control systems
Structural assessment of hulls, including construction integrity and residual thickness measurements of plating in accordance with national regulatory requirements
